Take the first professional rating with the PADI Divemaster course based at Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island, where supervising divers in genuine Galapagos currents builds rare skills quickly. You shadow instructors, guide certified divers and run scenarios at sites ranging from gentle Santa Fe to the demanding hammerhead crater of Gordon Rocks. You finish certified to lead dives and assist on courses worldwide.
PADI Divemaster is the entry-level professional rating in the PADI system. It qualifies you to supervise diving activities, assist instructors and independently guide certified divers, and it is the prerequisite for the Instructor Development Course.
You train from Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz, guiding across the local sites: easy Santa Fe and North Seymour for student supervision, and current-heavy Gordon Rocks for advanced briefing practice. The cool water and June-to-November upwelling make this one of the most demanding and rewarding places to earn a leadership rating.
