Course overview

Build the first-aid and CPR foundation every diver should carry with the PADI Emergency First Response course in Phuket. This dry, classroom-based programme teaches primary and secondary care that applies on the boat, on the beach or anywhere else, and it satisfies the CPR and first-aid prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course and professional ratings. No diving or swimming is involved.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• Deliver primary care for life-threatening emergencies
• Provide secondary care for injuries and illness that are not life-threatening
• Conduct scene assessment and barrier-use for your own safety
• Manage shock, serious bleeding and spinal-injury situations
• Build confidence to act in a real emergency

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Suitable for divers and non-divers
• No swimming or diving involved
• Open to all ages with parental consent for minors
