The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty can be completed without open-water dives in some formats. It certifies you to use mixes up to 40 percent oxygen and counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
Enriched air is most useful on Krabi's deeper reefs and wrecks reached by speedboat from Ao Nang, such as the Phi Phi sites, where longer bottom times help you get the most out of the warm, clear November-to-April conditions.
