Course overview

Push your depth range to 40 metres with the SSI Deep Diving specialty in Phuket, training on the deeper pinnacles around Racha Noi where the Andaman Sea holds the area's deepest recreational dives. You learn deep-dive planning, gas management and narcosis awareness across a series of dives, opening up sites that shallower divers cannot reach. It complements the SSI Wreck Diving specialty.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Recognise and manage nitrogen narcosis
• Monitor air consumption and no-decompression limits at depth
• Control buoyancy and ascent rates on deep dives
• Use deep-diving equipment and procedures
• Manage safety stops and reserve gas

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent (Advanced Adventurer recommended)
• Comfortable with buoyancy and gas monitoring
• Diver medical clearance where required

1. Day1
   Planning and first dives

   Deep-diving theory and planning, then progressively deeper dives at Racha Noi's pinnacles.
2. Day2
   To 40 metres

   Further dives reaching the 40-metre limit with narcosis and gas-management exercises, then certification.
