Move up from guiding to teaching with the SSI Open Water Instructor programme in Djibouti, set on the calm Gulf of Tadjoura where the Red Sea opens toward the Indian Ocean. The region's quiet reef bays and uncrowded sites give candidates a steady base to build teaching presentations and learn the SSI system before the Instructor Evaluation. You finish the programme qualified to teach and certify divers as an SSI professional.
The SSI Open Water Instructor programme trains you through the Total Teaching System and ends with an Instructor Evaluation run by an SSI Instructor Certifier. Once you qualify you become an authorised SSI Instructor, able to teach SSI programmes through an affiliated training centre, with digital certifications recognised worldwide.
Pool and open-water teaching workshops use the sheltered reef bays of the Gulf of Tadjoura. Calm-to-moderate conditions and warm 24-30°C water through the October-to-February peak suit steady teaching practice. The Instructor Evaluation is run by an SSI Instructor Certifier.
