Course overview

This entry-level scuba programme on Mauritius's sheltered west coast, structured as PADI Scuba Diver, takes you beyond a single try-dive. Over two days from Flic-en-Flac you learn the core skills in the calm lagoon and make supervised open-water dives to around 12 metres on shallow reefs alive with clownfish and parrotfish. It credits directly toward the full PADI Open Water Diver certification.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and use scuba equipment correctly
• Breathe, equalise and descend with control
• Clear your mask and recover a regulator underwater
• Manage basic buoyancy and finning
• Use hand signals and dive with a buddy
• Complete supervised open-water dives to around 12 metres

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable comfort in water
• Able to complete a medical questionnaire (clearance if any condition applies)
